Short bio

Charis Papadopoulos is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Ioannina. He received his Master and PhD degree from the Department of Computer Science in 2001 and 2005, respectively. For two years (2005-2007), he has worked as a postdoc researcher at the Algorithms Research Group of the University of Bergen in Norway. During 2008-2010, he has also worked as a visiting researcher at the Departments of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Ioannina. From 2011, he is a Faculty member at the Department of Mathematics, University of Ioannina. His research interests include design and analysis of algorithms, algorithmic graph theory, combinatorial enumeration, and algorithm engineering. He has published research papers in journals and refereed conferences that have attracted several citations. He has participated in national and international PhD commitees and he has supervised PhD and Master dissertations. Moreover, he has participated in research programmes funded by the European Union, Greek national funds, and Research Council of Norway, and he has given invited talks at research schools and seminars. He has also served as an evaluator for research grants funded by Research Councils of Greece, Norway, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, and the European Commission.
