Short bio

epap_photoEvangelos Papapetrou was born in Athens, Greece. He received the Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering and the PhD in Telecommunications from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, of the Aritsotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) in 1998 and 2003, respectively. He has joined the Department of Computer Science of the University of Ioannina (UoI) in 2004 as an adjunct faculty member and in 2007 he was appointed as a tenure-track lecturer. Since 2011 he is an assistant professor in the same department.

 

He has been involved in EU and national funded research projects and EU funded cooperation activities in the area of wired, wireless and satellite networks. His research interests include routing in networks with periodically and/or stochastically varying topologies, mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs), satellite networks, QoS in wireless mobile systems, traffic analysis and design of networks, IP networking, internet over satellites and radio resource management.

 

He is a member of IEEE, ACM, the Joint IEEE VTS & AES Greece Chapter and the Technical Chamber of Greece. He has more than thirty publications in journals, books and international conference proceedings.
