Department of Computer Science

Welcome to the web site of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Ioannina, Greece. Our department is a thriving academic community which aims at transferring and expanding knowledge through high quality teaching and research.

The Department of Computer Science was founded in 1990, accepted its first students in 1993 and since 1998 it offers a Graduate Program leading to Master and PhD degrees. Throughout those years, the Department has come to be one of the top Computer Science departments in Greece, with cutting edge facilities for teaching and research, contemporary programs of study and global collaborations through participation in national and international R&D projects.

Our Department participates and pioneers in the fields of Computer Science and Informatics, steadily guided by the following principles:
